In January, 2015, I began pursing an Associates of Science in Midwifery degree at the Midwives College of Utah. My goal is to become a certified professional midwife (CPM) and be licensed by the California State Medical Board. In order to fulfill the required clinical work, I must attend births under the direct supervision of a licensed CPM. Without these births, I cannot become a midwife. This means I may be unavailable, periodically, during certain months of the year. Please contact me to find out if I'm available during your birthing month.
I am still accepting doula clients in the Bakersfield, Ca., area while attending midwifery school and apprenticing. I have back-up doulas to support my doula clients if I'm not able to attend your birth as your doula. I will continue to offer everything in my doula package, including the post-partum visit and breastfeeding support to clients who hire me as their doula.
